How do your actions impact on others?

Last week’s whole College assembly focussed on tolerance and respect – making sure that we are tolerant of individual differences and that we respect each other at all times. This means that, irrespective of gender, religion, race, sexuality or intellectual ability we must always treat others the way in which we want to be treated ourselves. As a College community, I think we are very good at this and I am proud of this.

There are some questions that are really very important within this – our expectation is that your answers to these are a very clear ‘yes’ – all the time:

·         Are your actions towards others always positive, kind and supportive?

·         Are you always polite to others?

·         Are you tolerant of others?

·         Do you always treat others the way you wish to be treated?

If you answered no to any of these questions, then you must commit to working harder to improve. Our values of Respect, Happiness and Achievement were chosen by our students – we must all adhere to these, all the time.

 MRC community update:

Community day last week was fantastic. Thank you to all who came and participated. We had several visitors in College over the last week – they all commented on how polite and well-behaved you are. Thank you for this – it is a real pleasure to hear such positive feedback from people when they come to the school. It is also clear that you have been making a real effort to keep the school tidy by putting rubbish in the bins – we must all maintain this. There is still more to do here to here – this is a non-negotiable, this is something we must all do.

So far, we have run two question times for students. One was general questions, the other was specifically about behaviour and uniform. In both, I think we had around 100-150 students. We will continue to do this – other topics have been published for the rest of this half-term and members of the school’s leadership team will be there to answer any questions you have.

 Exams:

Well done to Year 10 in the exams over the las two weeks. I am looking forward to seeing the positive results from these.

Well done also to our Year 11 students – we have had MFL oral exams as well as art and photography. Keep on revising and pushing yourselves!

 Have a good week

Thank you to all for last week
Taking pride in your appearance
