Doing better every day and fireworks tickets on sale in reception!

Well done on another good week in College. In every lesson we visit, we see you working hard, engaged in your lessons and behaving well. A huge well done to you all. Our values of respect, happiness and achievement are apparent in the way you are working, supporting each other and being polite and helpful to each other and staff. Thank you and well done. It is important to do better every day and to work commit to do better than you did today. It’s not an easy thing to do, but if we commit to do this the College will continue to improve.

Armistice week – 100 years since the end of World War One

This is an incredibly important date every year, but particularly so this year, given the War ended 100 years ago. Please be sure to wear your poppy with pride.

In preparation for Armistice Week and their celebration for the Centenary of the End of World War 1, we are appealing for any descendants of WW1 veterans or local people with stories relating to the war told through the generations to get in touch. We are also looking for local families who have been recently affected by war across the world who would be interested in sharing stories and memories with you.

Please contact simon.hills@mrc-academy.org or madeline.hathaway@mrc-academy.org or ring 01730 812451 for more information

Fireworks

Our Fireworks evening will take place on 2nd November and tickets are now available for you to but from reception. This is the first time in several years that a fireworks event has taken place in Midhurst and it is great that we are hosting it. There will be fireworks to music, live music, food and refreshments available on the night. The proceeds from the evening will support the MRC Parents’ Association – they are keen to know from you how this money could be spent to support you in College – something from student council to consider.

Sixth form open evening

Last week we held our Sixth Form open evening. Despite the terrible weather, the evening was really well attended. Year 11 are working very hard and we look forward to them all achieving great results and staying with us next year. There is also a GCSE Success Fair this Thursday, for Year 11 students and parents / carers. This is an important evening – attending will help you to prepare to be successful in the Summer.
