A great week – well done!

Last week was particularly good in College. I say to you in assemblies and through tutor time that you make us what we are. You are showing in so many positive ways just how good you are. Thank you.

I must say a special thank you and well done to the cast and crew of Oklahoma! I went on Friday evening and it was simply great. Great singing, acting, costumes and a wonderful performance. Well done to all – in particular to Mrs Strachan for her work in making it happen – not forgetting Mrs Tidbury, Mr Brimacombe, Mr Burton and Mr Taplin. Great also to see Ted Murray back helping with the sound system – on a break from training to be a doctor having done his A-Levels with us.

Last week, Dame Sally Coates from United Learning visited the College. She was hugely impressed with your behaviour, attitude and general politeness around the College. It is great to hear this feedback – but this is only what I see all the time. Thank you and keep it up – remember to be a better today than you were yesterday.

There are almost too many things to mention from last week – the following is a list:

  • French students in College as part of French exchange
  • Year 7 STEM day for all year 7 at the ‘Big Bang’
  • Year 10 futures day
  • Year 11 into 12 transition day
  • Leanne Riley teaching girls rugby

    This week:

We have sports day planned for Tuesday this week. We may need to postpone the day due to the weather. It is a great community event and it is good that you support your houses. As you all know, there is no shade outside at all. If it is likely to be very hot with no cloud cover, we will postpone. We all love sunny weather, but being in direct sunlight for 4-5 hours could cause some issues. We will decide by lunch tomorrow and let you know.

    Have a good week
