Last week was a particularly busy and also a very positive week in College

I am pleased to inform you that students’ levels of engagement and work in classes continues to improve. Year 11 students had a ‘Learning Conference’ at Lodge Hill to help prepare them for GCSEs. They undertook revision sessions in core subjects as well as having the opportunity to participate in a range of activities. I look forward to hearing the feedback from them when they are back in College.

It is this time of year that our Year 13 students submit applications to University via the UCAS system. Mr Brimacombe has been working with students to complete these and this year 70% of our students have submitted applications, which is the highest number we have ever submitted.

Our Year 9 students will choose their subjects for Key Stage 4 study very soon. Our options evening is at 6pm on 17th January and I would encourage all Year 9 students and parents to attend. This is an important evening and an important milestone in the students’ education. I look forward to meeting parents of Year 9 students there.
