Lots to celebrate!
I wanted to start this week by thanking those students who helped a member of our local community last week. As I said in assembly last week, I was incredibly proud and pleased to receive a letter which stated not only that you are well behaved outside of the College, but also that some of you had gone further, helping one of the local residents. This is a great example to all of us and something we can all do.
I also received a letter from Sussex Snowdrop Trust last week to thank you all for the money you raised for them. As you know, Sussex Snowdrop is a local charity which supports families of children with life-limiting illnesses; you helped to raise over £1300 for this fantastic cause. Thank you.
In assemblies last week, I have spoken to you all about the importance of manners and courtesy. I am always impressed by your behaviour, but I do think we can all go the extra mile and greet each other, hold doors open and assist one another. If we all do this, this will make our College even better.
Notices for this week:
- Year 11 Revision Preparation Evening is Thursday from 6pm-7pm.
- Orchestra Day on Tuesday
- INSET day Friday (College is closed to students, apart from Year 11 who have been invited in)
Sports results:
The following are the sports results for this week. Thank you to all students who represent our College:
- The year 8 cricket team finished 2nd in the area tournament.
- The year 7 girls’ football team came 2nd and the year 9s came 4th. This tournament hosted at MRC.
Our Year 9 rugby team had a county referee for their match last week. He took the time to write to us to say how impressed he was. He said the Year 9s were enthusiastic, pleasant and respectful. Great to get this feedback!
Have a good week.
