Thank you all for a very positive first week back

It was good to see everyone on assemblies last week and I would like to thank you for a very positive first week back. The theme of our tutor times this week is our value of happiness and it was good to see students happy to be back in College last week. I visited several lessons last week and was impressed with the work, conduct and progress you are making. Thank you and well done – a good start to the term.

Our College Community:

Last week marked five years since the official opening of the College. Lord Adonis opened the College on that day and I know that over the last five years we have seen a lot of changes in the College. Our goal, though, has to remain the same. We want to develop every member of College community Academically, Personally and Socially to enable you all to lead happy and successful lives. This means we must all work hard to achieve academic excellence, be the best person we can be every day and always be mindful that we are doing the right thing to support others. We must all commit to do this, every lesson every day.

On 28th April we will open our College doors for the annual community day. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever and I am grateful to Mrs Hathaway for her work in organising the day. I look forward to seeing you there.

Representing the College:

It was good to have German exchange students in College the week before we broke up. I know the students involved will be looking forward to going back to Germany in a few weeks’ time. We have also had some students from Year 10 representing the College in a United Learning Scholars programme at Caterham School and our Cheerleading team, lead by Miss Norcross did fantastically well to come third in the national championships. Well done to all.

Notices for this week:

  • Year 10 assessments will take place

  • Year 12 and 13 assessment will take place

  • Year 11 revision evening on Thursday evening – we want to see as many Year 11 at this evening as possible.

The College has looked great all week – it is clear you are making a real effort with litter to keep our school tidy. We must keep this up please.

    Have a good week
