Thank you to all for last week
There is a lot to share from last week. Thank you to Mrs Hathaway for organising the fantastic Community Day on Saturday. It was good to see so many of you there. The Year 10 exams have started really well – well done to all Year 10 students for the positive approach you have taken in these tests; it will help you to prepare for next summer’s GCSEs. I also think that our College looks much tidier – you are clearly making an effort to keep the school tidy. We must all keep this up – this is a non-negotiable and we must all do it.
Our aims as a College:
As you walk around the College site you will see several posters. They have been up for some time, but I wanted to remind you what these mean to us as a College and why they are important. Our goal is: to develop every member of our community academically, personally and socially. This means that we want the very best GCSE and A-Level results for you. We want you to develop personally – which means knowing right from wrong. Social development means that you develop manners, being polite at all times and can interact with anyone and everyone you meet. These are essential life-skills.
You have a part to play in making this happen for yourself and our College community, by doing the right thing every lesson, every day. We must all do this and together make our school even better.
College building:
You will notice the new water fountains. These are better than the previous fountains as they don’t leak! Our new doors are also helping with site security and keep us all safe in College.
This week:
Friday is an INSET day and the College will be closed to students. We will be inviting some Year 11 students in for extra sessions to help with GCSE preparation.

Sporting success outside of school
Erin Berry (Year 9) recently qualified for the national rock climbing finals which will be held in Ratho in Scotland this week. We wish her the best of luck and we look forward to hearing about the results.
A special mention to Lucy West, whose art work has won a national competition and will go on display in a gallery in Tokyo, Japan! An incredible achievement! Well done to Lucy!
Have a good week.
